Product Description
Product Overview

Inconel 718 round bar (UNS N07718, W.Nr. 2.4668, GH4169) is a precipitation-hardening nickel-chromium-iron alloy with niobium and molybdenum additions. It retains high strength up to approximately 700 °C, resists oxidation and chloride stress corrosion, and remains non-magnetic after ageing. Our bars are produced by triple melting (VIM + ESR + VAR), forged and rolled to a fine, uniform grain structure, then supplied solution treated plus aged (AMS 5662 / AMS 5663) or solution annealed only, depending on the machining route.

Diameter range is 10 mm to 300 mm in black, turned, peeled, ground or polished condition, with lengths up to 6000 mm. Each heat is ultrasonic tested and delivered with an EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate. Bars can be cut to length, trepanned for rings, or machined into pre-forms on request.

Typical Applications
  • Gas turbine discs, shafts, casings and fasteners
  • Aerospace engine compressor components and cryogenic hardware
  • Oil and gas wellhead, downhole tools and high-pressure valves
  • Nuclear reactor components and instrument drive shafts
  • High-strength bolts, studs and threaded fasteners for high-temperature service
  • Moulds, dies and extrusion tooling for hot working
Why Choose This Triple Melt Bar
  • VIM + ESR + VAR melting keeps oxygen, nitrogen and segregation low for critical rotating parts
  • Forged structure with fine uniform grain size for stable ultrasonic response
  • Full diameter range 10–300 mm covers both machined fasteners and large disc blanks
  • AMS 5662 heat treatment condition ready for direct machining — no re-solution needed
  • Each heat comes with EN 10204 3.1 MTC, traceable to melt number
