1J85 is a nickel-iron soft magnetic alloy in the Permalloy family, typically containing about 80% nickel with iron and small additions of elements such as molybdenum. It is characterized by very high magnetic permeability, low coercivity, and low hysteresis loss, making it highly suitable for weak magnetic field applications.

In wire form, 1J85 is produced through precision drawing and controlled heat treatment. The processing must carefully balance cold deformation and annealing to ensure stable microstructure and consistent magnetic properties. Proper annealing significantly improves permeability and reduces stress sensitivity.

1J85 wire is commonly used in precision electronics, sensor coils, magnetic shielding, and high-sensitivity devices such as fluxgate sensors and micro relays. It plays an important role in systems requiring stable magnetic performance and strong resistance to external magnetic interference.
