420/420S stainless steel welding rod/wire (also known as ER420, ER420S, SUS420, SUS420S, WNR 1.4021, 1.4028, SS420) is a martensitic stainless steel filler material designed for welding 420 stainless steel and similar high-hardness alloys.
This welding material provides high hardness, mechanical strength, and moderate corrosion resistance, making it ideal for cutlery, tools, valves, pumps, shafts, and wear-resistant components. The 420S variant features low-carbon composition, improving weldability and reducing the risk of sensitization.
